okay but what if angels are black holes and halos are just the light warping around them being pulled in by gravity

WELL HERE IS THE THING, RIGHT? black holes you basically literally have to be in their gravity like pretty much on top of them to be sucked in. so that’s not really an issue. it’s TERRIFYING sure, but explains a few things which I will list:

  • my astronomy teacher said if you were somehow able to survive entering a black hole and reached the bottom or singularity, the way time works is that you would be able to see the entire universe laid out – like you’d know when the universe ended if you looked back outwards
  • which falls into line with the idea that the angels know all of time and everything except when it will all end precisely (or scientifically, the collapse of this universe is unknown, but supposing angels were black holes they would see until this unknown point)
  • matter falling into a black hole creates a disc of light which is probably among the literal BRIGHTEST things in the universe
  • there are angels which are supposed to be the wheels of God’s Chariot, so it would make sense if, according to theories, that there ARE massive blackholes at the center of all galaxies which is what cause them to rotate, and those black holes are angels which make the galaxy spin.
  • black holes were formed sometime after the big bang, which lines into the story of creation, that the angels came after the universe.
  • angels can choose to physically manifest like humans, but aren’t actually. it’s said that you cannot survive looking at them or hearing them directly. NASA says that the “note” a black hole emits is the deepest sound found in the universe. i am just guessing here but you would probably die if you heard it up close instead of a bazillion light years away. ALSO side note cool fact apparently that “note”: “…It’s worth pointing out that the “sound” in question is 57 octaves (and one semitone) below middle C, which makes it 247×2−57≈1.71×10−15Hz, or one whole cycle every 18.5 million years.” CRAZY RIGHT although apparently some sing other notes and basically if there’s anything people know about angels it is that they DEFINITELY SING. anyways you can’t see black holes but you can see the things around them and the soundwaves surrounding them.
  • also apparently scientists picked up a death “scream” of a star falling into a black hole but like…
  • anyways literally every angel is terrifying BE NOT AFRAID “haha okay but i’m crying though is that cool”
  • black holes are probably angels. i’m just saying.

this is exactly the kind of weird christian gnostic-empiricist apologia i like to see on my dash

Reblogging for the Christian gnostic-empiricist apologia.

this is my post, and it’s based on Jewish theology, not Christianity.

Your jewish theology is my Christianity’s prologue, so still Christian gnostic-empiricist apologia

You are invited to sit the fuck down because Maimonides, the source for this theology, lived millennia after your sorry-ass Jesus. You do not get to claim it. Nor is Judaism “a prologue” to your sorry religion. This is beyond offensive and you need to delete your fucking blog and leave us alone.

this is my post, and it’s based on Jewish theology, not Christianity.

But Christ was a Jewish man, so it makes sense that Christian gnostic stuff would resonate with both.

Your guy died about 1200-1300 years before the theology this was based on.  Get your own philosophy and stop stealing ours.

There are so many things that have been invented or initiated by Jewish people over the past 2,000 years that bring pride to us as a people, but whenever we point it out and try to get an acknowledgment, we are dismissed and told that it doesn’t really matter, or that we’re ruining everyone’s fun. Yet whenever it comes to Christianity—the one thing initiated by a Jewish person that has done nothing but cause misery and harm to the Jewish people—suddenly y’all want claim a connection?

In all sincerity please fuck off.

@ the Christians who keep trying to claim this shit

I just saw a youtube ad of someone whining about saying “happy holidays”like

do you not know??? that Jews, Muslims and everyone else exist???

“Wah wah peoples existences are being acknowledged other than me, when I was younger it was just Christmas”

Yeah well when I was younger, my parents had to tiptoe around explaining evangelism and antisemitism to me all the times I was tearfully asking why no one acknowledged our holiday, why I had no specials to watch on tv, why my mom had to scrounge for wrapping paper that didn’t have Santa on it, why when I told other kids I didn’t celebrate Christmas they’d mockingly yell “merry Christmas” in my face every time they’d see me.

Representation matters especially to children and lack of representation hurts.

When you say people should only say “merry Christmas” you’re ignoring the fact that people different then you exist, and not only should they not be acknowledged, but they shouldn’t be able to celebrate publicly like you get to because its “rude” or “un-American.”

People are Jewish

People are Muslim.

People celebrate Kwanza.

That is a fact.

It should not be controversial information that needs to be hidden because it might offend someone.

Its not a big deal and its not hard.

im not saying America needs to get hype for Hanukkah or calm down about Christmas.

Im just saying they need to not get offended when someone acknowledges Jews exist.

For fuck’s sake Hobby Lobby BANNED Hanukkah so they could feel more comfortable! How do secular coffee cups compare to that!?

And Im only putting emphasis on my holiday because its my own experience. I know Ramadan, Kwanza, and everything else going on this time of year don’t even gat as much as us.

Representation and good treatment are not finite resources. You don’t need to fearfully scramble to put minorities that gain traction back below you for fear you’ll end up like them. You still have more power. Chill.

So if you ever feel butt-hurt because someone says “happy holidays” to a stranger who’s traditions and beliefs they don’t know and don’t want to assume,

Just imagine you grew up never hearing “merry Christmas” because people get offended by your families “controversial” existence.

And for fucks sake please let us watch youtube in peace.

Incredible that hobby lobby banned חנוכה and yet they steal Torahs from us all the time

Outcry over teen’s underwear in rape trial

anti-capitalistlesbianwitch:

A series of protests over sexual consent have been taking place in Ireland, a week after a man was acquitted of raping a 17-year-old.

In the trial, the defence lawyer told the jury: “You have to look at the way she was dressed. She was wearing a thong with a lace front.”

The 27-year-old man was found not guilty of rape shortly afterwards.

The controversy led one Irish MP to hold up a lace thong in parliament to highlight “routine victim-blaming”.

Ruth Coppinger produced the blue lacy underwear in the Dáil (Irish parliament) from her sleeve on Tuesday.

“It might seem embarrassing to show a pair of thongs here… how do you think a rape victim or a woman feels at the incongruous setting of her underwear being shown in a court?”

… The day after publication of that court report, the head of Dublin’s Rape Crisis Centre criticised the barrister’s remarks.

Although she did not question the verdict, she called for reform of a legal system in which she said such suggestions were frequently made.Amid increasing media attention, Irish social media users expressed outrage at the remarks in court.

Under the hashtag #ThisIsNotConsent, Irish women posted photographs of their underwear in all shapes, colours, and materials to protest the use of such techniques in court.

SERIOUSLY

I am going to print this out and plaster it everywhere I go

my heart just broke

Not gonna lie; I’m on the verge of tears right now.
Because this is what I see every night when I come into work. I work at a Jewish-run elder care non-profit. Even in the memory care unit, we’re seeing a rise in the residents’ anxiety levels, to the point where they’ve had to stop turning on the TV news stations (and these residents still love the news). Multiple residents are direct survivors of the Shoah; some barely escaped, and almost all of them lost family members in death camps. One resident was one of the children saved by the Kindertransport. Many other residents tell me stories of when they were kids, how their neighborhoods were destroyed and relocated and of the siblings and parents they no longer have. One newer resident was finally starting to settle in when Charlottesville happened. Even though we immediately changed the channel, she was shaken. She was inconsolable for hours. When I left for the night, she was still crying and refused to leave her room. Even now, weeks after the direct event, she still is wary to come to programs, fearing that if she is away from her room too long that her possessions and place will be stolen from her like they were in 1938. Even with dementia, even with Alzheimers, these residents remember what happened. They cannot forget their lost loved ones. They cannot forget the things stolen from them. They cannot forget, period.
Because this fight against Neo-Nazis isn’t just a theoretical thing. These groups know that people are forgetting about Shoah; they take great strength knowing that people from that generation are dying. When they regard WWII as a “dark cloud” hanging over the heads of this generation, it is not with a solemn regard, with they knowledge that we must not forget lest we repeat our mistakes. These White supremacists, these White Neo-Nazis, see Shoah remembrance as something they will gladly eradicate. When people gladly throw out the Nazi salute, chant the 14 words, or march under the banner of “hail victory,” they are two things and two things only – Nazi apologists and Nazi supporters.
Shoah survivors are not gone. They are still here. We need to stop ignoring that this normalization of Nazis marching in the street harms real people. It’s not just ideas. It’s not just “free speech”.
We cannot forget. We cannot forget. We cannot forget.

Remembering is not enough.
Sorrow is not enough.
They are in our midst again

We need to know how to stop them:https://socialistworker.org/2017/07/03/what-strategies-will-stop-the-far-right

It’s somewhere in the reblogs, but I think I’ll add this:

Depicted is not a random survivor.  Note the number on the arm.  It belongs to Leon Greenman, a British Jew who ended up in Auschwitz, survived, and spent his life campaigning against fascism. He passed in 2008 at age 97, and didn’t live to see this travesty.
