hey guys just wanted to let you know i might die updates soon

so: a huge earthquake just hit my area and my stuff is sort of screwed. there’s a gas leak in my house and we got a lot of damage, and on top of that there’s a tsunami coming, but we’re headed to high ground so i’ll be physically safe

my family is safe but we had to shut off our gas and our heat, which. isn’t ideal in an alaskan winter but we still have electricity. our house is standing but there’s structural damage and our chimney literally fell off to somewhere?? it’s one of those little pipe ones so we haven’t found it but it means we’re getting a lot of cold air. it’ll be a while before the government gives us money to make sure our house doesn’t fall apart if they do at all. in the meantime we need to get some more blankets and maybe one of those plug in heaters? uhhh. things are pretty screwed up in my city right now. lots of bridges and roads are looking like this:

if you guys wanna send me some money for supplies while we figure out how to get heat back that would be pretty good, i know i’ve been making a lot of donation posts recently but i didn’t get enough to hold us over after getting hit this hard

“I put my phone down and can’t find it”, a saga.

“Want me to call it?”
“It’s on silent.”

A tragedy in three parts.

My wife is a super techie person and told me about something thay actually FIXED this problem for me.

There’s an app called IfThisThenThat(ITTT) and you can tell your phone to do all sorts of cool stuff, but the big one for me was that you can set it up so if you get a text with a key phrase(i think the default is “lost phone”) and only that key phrase, it turns on your volume and cranks it to max.

This has helped me so much, I hope it can help some of you.

TO THOSE MAKING NATIVE OCS

I see this a lot, no one has actual names, or any reference for names, that are legit Native American, varying among the tribes, for their characters.

Babynames.com and shit like that will give you names made up by white people.

However, I’ve got your solution.

Native-Languages  is a good website to turn to for knowledge on a lot of native things, including native names. If you’re unsure about the names you’ve picked, they even have a list of made up names here!

Please don’t trust names like babynames.com for native names, they’re made up and often quite offensive to the cultures themselves.

Thank you!

In 2019 we grow from sex positivity to sex responsibility, meaning we:

  • call out shitty people who are just abusers and using kink/polyamory to mask it and stop supporting them
  • recognize that sometimes hypersexuality can be a form a self-harm for some people
  • keep kinks and fetishes in appropriate spaces and not bringing them out into general public spaces and thereby involving people in scenes they aren’t consenting to
  • understand that some fetishes are inherently unhealthy and some illegal to actually engage in for good reason and ignoring that is irresponsible at best
  • teaching teenagers safe sex but not encouraging them to engage or seek out dangerous sexual situations or sex with a partner who doesn’t care about them in an attempt to be ‘sexually liberated’

Yesterday I said that bookmobiles are an instant reblog. Today, I learned that rule also applies to book donkeys.

I’ve always appreciated mobile libraries; this one doesn’t have as many as the big trucks, but it’s a lot cuter. And, given half a chance, it will tidy up the thistles round the back of the house.

Truck libraries don’t have that even as an optional request-only extra.
