there’s a decent amt of neurologists who’ve called the sleep schedules we’re obligated to be on despite flagrant conflict with our natural circadian rhythms “borderline torture” and the work hours we’re expected to put in despite the fact that the average person can only maintain maximal efficiency and focus for 3 hours at a time “nearly inhumane” and i think about that a lot

Really, Doctor Who?

Becka: Kill the witches, defeat Satan. As King James has written in his new bible, ‘Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.’”

Doctor: “In the Old Testament. There’s a twist in the sequel: ‘Love thy neighbor.’”

Me:

Even time-traveling aliens advocate Christian supersessionism too? Seriously?

*rolls eyes Jewishly and whacks Doctor Who’s writers in the head with a Torah scroll and the entire Talmud*

FFS, “love thy neighbor” is in fricking LEVITICUS, if it shows up in the Gospels it’s because Jesus was quoting it.

Okay, I’m behind on Doctor Who and now less inclined to catch up, but… is this some kind of Christian meme? Because I saw it recently in a fic, shouted amar rebbi akiva at the screen, and rageclosed the tab. Like, isn’t this part of their bible? Shouldn’t they have read it? Or know what’s in it? Why do I keep having to see Christians not realize “love thy neighbor” is in the actual Torah?

Isn’t this literally one of the ten commandments

Also why wouldn’t you quote the bible at extremist Christians in the first place? Why would they even care about a religion that isn’t theirs, when they aren’t tolerant of women existing?

*sighs Jewishly*

Do you ever start bullshitting a paper, and then look over it halfway through and think, ’…Wait a minute, I could be onto something here.’

this is the definition of college.

Literally I was writing a paper on Asian salt water crocodiles, like a simple about them paper for a college class, and I started noticing some inconsistencies in the scientific papers I was sourcing and I accidentally discovered that the crocodile has been misdiagnosed as least concerned on the endangered species list when they should be classified as endangered and now my professor is having me write a formal report to the international Red List to have them reclassified and all I wanted to do was write this paper on an animal I thought was cool and now I’m considered an expert on this species…

This may be the best college story I’ve ever read.
