I don’t. It’s too expensive and I don’t have the need for it. I’ve never used sage. Not to mention, if you are smudging and are not an indigenous American, you are appropriating that culture. Cleansing is one thing, but doing an entire smudging ritual when you are not Native American is very wrong.
^!
Note to everyone that simply burning sage is not smudging. It’s cleansing. Please refrain from using the term Smudging.
Plus, sage is mad easy to grow in a pot or herb garden, and kitchen sage is a perfectly cromulent alternative to white sage and comes in all kinds of weird colors if you’re really dedicated to the Aesthetique™️
‘Straight black men and white women will always be the weakest links in the struggle for equality because they view equality as achieving status with white men. The problem with that is that white men’s status is contingent on the oppression of other people.’ – Angela Davis
So about this project. For awhile now I’ve noticed almost every single time I see a darker skinned black woman “going viral”, she’s half naked, oiled up, and/or sexualized in some way shape or form. It’s very rarely ever “Look at this amazing dark skinned woman who accomplished this thing.” Or “Look at her smile, she’s gorgeous”. Please don’t misinterpret what I’m saying. There is nothing wrong with darker women and black women in general being free and expressive about their sexuality and provocative features. BUT that is NOT ALL they are. They are so much more than sexual beings, but for some reason, that seems to be almost the only thing that grabs viral appreciation. So here’s my attempt to have darker skinned black women go viral for just being cute, creative, stylish, bubbly, beautiful, and black. Aside from the videographer EVERYONE involved in this project IS A BLACK WOMAN. I hope you guys like it. I ask that if you enjoyed this and agree with my objective, share it with a few people please.
A special thank you to @aggienes, I couldn’t have done this without her.
Got a little nervous after reading this because I currently live in NYC, did some fact-finding, and it turns out that since most of the various water creatures are microscopic, the water is probably kinda all right (it’s still highly preferable to filter it first)
since you can sometimes see them (and as such they’re not microscopic) it is highly preferable to filter first
As with literally everything else, there is considerable debate as to whether or not filtering the water is required. (Source: I’m an Orthodox Jewish New Yorker, and my rabbi does not consider the filter necessary, or even strongly recommended.)
If you are in New York and concerned about the issue, your best bet is to consult your own rabbi.
Friday, November 2nd – Hi everyone, I’m Gemma and I’m so sorry to ask this again so soon from my (please help me avoid eviction post) which explains my situation, but I still desperately need help to get groceries + keep my heating and lights on.
At the moment, I have been struggling these past few months to make ends meet and pay off my bills and get groceries due to my welfare benefits (Universal Credit and Housing Benefit) having been revoked under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. I’ve been struggling horribly to keep my heating on as it’s getting into winter where I live, with most nights being 0°C/ 32°F. And as you can see from the images above of my meters, they are both on their emergency credit and won’t last until my next benefit payment due at the end of November.
I desperately need help to keep my heating on and to get groceries + supplies for November, I’ve just got a few days left of food and I’m trying really hard to ration it. I’m literally freezing, hungry and drowning in debt at the moment because of my sanctions and since this situation has been ongoing for so long, government aid/food banks are unable to offer me any more assistance.
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life and, sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody has to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling. Thank you for your help 💖
