No amount of antiblackness, racism, or classism is going to change the fact that AAVE is a dialect, no different than the hundreds of dialects spoken in other English speaking areas/countries throughout the centuries. 🐇🐇
Your lack of understanding of AAVE doesn’t reflect our intelligence, hennybunni. It’s not for you to learn….or use, especially since it’s misused, abused, and profited on while AAs are mistreated and dehumanized for speaking it.
i describe it as “slipping into” bc people put on the dialect at very specific times for very specific reasons. train yourself to see it. look at these viral posts and think about
