I’m Erin, my family needs at least $10 to eat this week and $15 for cab fare. I need money for groceries as we have no food to eat. Thanks to y’all we have done so much and I’m sorry to ask for this but we need help. I got turned down for disability and my caseworker helped me apply for SSI which I am likely to get. I am just waiting to hear back on it and that takes some time. If you want to donate, be it 1 cent or 5 cent, no amount is too small, it would be greatly appreciatedand go towards food, necessities, or bills. I will repay anyone who donates in any way. We are in bad debt which is where most of our money goes currently and to basic bills. Reblogs are as helpful as donations. Nobody has to donate if they don’t want to or can’t, times are hard on everyone. No one should feel guilty. I love y’all. Please don’t send hate, I will block you.
we all know capitalism is fucking evil but one of my favorite stories to tell from Retail Hell is that time my district manager got annoyed that 2 poor people were taking food out of the dumpster occasionally so he told us all to start pouring bleach over all the items we threw out so people couldn’t use them/it would hurt them if they touched it directly. never did that and absolutely have participated in “employee theft” by stealing bags of food from the dumpsters to donate to the local food bank but like. he really did just want us to directly harm people over food that was already in the literal trash.
when managers and CEOs get up in arms about “employee theft” they’re actually talking about people like me who don’t throw out the 30 pairs of shoes that we weren’t able to sell and instead bag them up and throw them behind the dumpster for retrieval/donation later. I once took home $450 of food and another night got $500 worth of makeup. Perfectly good electronics get thrown away bc the packaging was tampered with. We throw away food, cosmetics, and household products 30-60 days before their expiration dates (which are also kinda bullshit anyway). The whole retail model is structured around this idea of massive waste.
Thursday, October 25th Hi everyone, I’m Gemma and I’m so sorry to ask this again so soon from my (please help me avoid eviction post) as I still desperately need help.
As many of you may know, I’ve been struggling these past few months, literally since the new year in January, because I’ve had my welfare benefits (Universal Credit and Housing Benefit) revoked under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned and due to my mental illnesses, I am unable to find work despite my many applications. And if anyone has ever had their benefits sanctioned or capped, then you’ll understand how much of a struggle and death sentence it is.
And at the moment my U.C benefit is under a “capped- sanction” and the £185 that I received today went towards paying off some of my utilities, tax and other bills, leaving me with nothing to help pay my electricity & heating or get groceries for this month. The photo above is how much I have until November 25th and I know that I have asked this a lot these past few months and all the help I have previously received has literally helped me from spiralling into more debt and helped me to eat and stay warm so far and I absolutely hate to ask for more help but I have no one else to turn to and government aid/food banks are unable to offer me anymore assistance.
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life and, sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody has to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling. Thank you for your help 💖

I didn’t put an amount cause I made this quickly but I’m hoping to get about $100-150 for hats, mitts, boots, and snowsuits for the kids and boots, a hat and mitts for me. It gets cold here fast and we’ve already had snow once!
I’m a single mum on a fixed budget and extra once a year expenses like these are hard !!!
