Y’all know that part of the beginning of Gilead in The Handmaid’s Tale was them banning porn and sex work right?

Don’t mistake the banning of adult content for anything other than what it is: part of the dystopian nightmare we’re all living in.

you dont live in tumblr lmao, go outside

In other words

“how dare a trans queer person be angry that their online spaces – sometimes the only spaces they can find acceptance and more than that, community – are being controlled and removed, despite the fact that the vast majority of the outside world does not accept them”

Fuck you, to be perfectly honest.

I don’t live in Tumblr but I do live in the real world. Where the world begins to look more like a dystopia to me every day – with new injustices facing women, people of colour, queer people, trans people, disabled people, poor people, every single day.

Tumblr is also part of the real world. The people who own it live in the real world, are impacted by the real world. So when I say “don’t mistake the banning of adult content for anything other than what it is: part of the dystopian nightmare we’re all living in” I mean:

Don’t mistake this for not being important. Don’t think “oh it’s just Tumblr it doesn’t matter.”

Because it does. These things don’t happen in a vacuum.
