The amount of Star Wars fans arguing otherwise in the comments is truly hilarious. How can anybody not realize what a cultural juggernaut The Wizard of Oz is? There wouldn’t BE a Star Wars without The Wizard of Oz. It paved the way for fantasty stories and film in general. Sigh.
