One of our oldest stories/teachings is that the sacred pipe was brought to us by White Buffalo Calf Woman, and she taught us the way of the sacred pipe (not just how to use it, but how to walk with it in a spiritual way). When she left, she promised to return one day, so seeing a white buffalo calf is really, really uplifting.
