Doctor Who has always, for 55 years, been about social justice. It’s been about the Doctor and their friends freeing people (including aliens) from all sorts of tyranny, fascism and racism all throughout time and space. And for 55 years, they’ve avoided hiring people of colour to tell those stories, or including them in the regular historical stories. Until now.
