Y’all, I got a favor to ask. My sister recently published a short story on Amazon, and only like… two people have bought it. (I’m one.) She’s got some serious depression problems, and writing is one of the few things she can do to create and feel better. Logically she knows that getting word out about your stuff so people will buy it is the hardest part, but… it’s really not helping her feelings of uselessness and futility that she’s seen so little interest in something she worked hard on.
It’s called Child of Fire and it’s about a young girl trying to save her village from a volcanic eruption. The story is only $1.50. And y’all, I’m not gonna lie to you, it’s the work of a beginning writer. But it’s not terrible, and please don’t think I’m biased because she’s my sister, because tbh that makes me more critical of it. It’s got an original, interesting premise, and some decent suspense and emotional resonance. It’s also not very long at all, so not a lot of time lost if you don’t like it.
I would really appreciate it if some of you guys were to buy it. Help her feel like her efforts were worth something. If you decide you liked the story, maybe leave her a review. Support a beginning author!
