That’s what I mean I didn’t know the word was a slur in certain places. I’ve never met any Romani people and Irish Travellers are typically 100% Irish. If an Irish person were to say ‘A family of Gypsies moved in yesterday’ or ‘A boy in my class is a Gypsy’ its not a racist thing. I guess things vary in different countries but its interesting to see how words can have different meaning in different countries

And as I said I dont know about the relationship between Ireland and a Romani people but a simple Google search reveals the oppression and persecution they face includes Ireland.
