This doesn’t make any sense. Possible scam? When a cat is blocked, they are given a catheter with muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Should only cost $400 to $1000, depending on if you are going to an regular vet or emergency clinic

Source: me, whose cat has this exact same problem.

So either OP is scamming us, or their vet is scamming them. OP if you are legit PLEASE take your cat to another vet IMMEDAITELY

But i think OP is scamming us because a blocked cat will die from kidney failure within around 24 to 48 hours. They literally wouldn’t have time to make this post.

OP here. this is not a scam. foster has had catheters in since last saturday. this is how he has managed to avoid rupture or kidney failure. regardless, he is unable to pass the blockage when the catheter is removed due to his narrow urethra. although i understand your experience had a much easier solution, not all experiences are going to have the same resolution. you being unaware that this could happen to cats does not mean my situation is falsified or improbable. perineal urethrostomies exist for a reason – i did not simply make up the name of the operation. some blockages cannot be passed even with the help of catheters. as for me possibly being scammed, i’ve already taken second opinions and gotten estimates from various other vets and various other people in the field.

please don’t try to derail my ability to receive help simply because my situation was not identical to yours or because you may have received cheaper help. here are a few of the bills: the first two from the initial UTI phase, and the last being the down payment on his catheter treatments last saturday. i’ve yet to be billed for the operation itself.

I know both of these people and can verify personally that it’s legit.
