Must taschlich always be done with bread? This says that it is not good for ducks, but other foods [like oats, seeds, or greens] are okay.
We have (had?) geese where I live. I wonder if tearing lettuce, kale, or collards would be a suitable replacement.
the jewish community i belong too (which includes 3 synagogues) that does taschlich together, we really go just use crumbs, a pinch, you dont use small pieces, it’s like tossing a pinch of glitter, so you get enough pieces for all the wrongs you have done, but you are not endangering wildlife
