In our Rosh Hashana prayers we say Hayom Harat Olom, translated in the Machzor as “Today the world stands as at birth”; But by itself, “Harat Olom” translates as pregnant forever.
What happens when you are pregnant forever? A Stillbirth occurs. 

So is Rosh Hashana a birth or death? You get to decide. 

In the words of Rivka Malka Perlman, “What’s left for us to decide is, will we be born this year?…We are not meant to live in the womb. We are not meant to live in pure potential. We’re meant to live in actuality.”

So go forth this new year and live your true potential!
