Baby boomers don’t seem to realize the value of a $20
I’ll use my parents: let’s say they were born in 1960, near the tail end of the baby boomer era. In 1980, they use $20 to buy their essientials like groceries and paying bills. That’s fine.
Skip ahead to me. I was 20 in 2014. Let me show you how little their $20 is actually worth because of inflation.
$6.65.
6 dollars and freaking 65 cents.
There’s not much you can buy if you’re trying to shop like a “regular” person and not just penny pinch, bragain hunt, or want to eat semi decently (so avoiding the cardboard known as “great value” and avoiding mcD $1, $2, $3 and $5 menu).
$20 in the 1980s was worth something. Now, it ain’t shit.
The older generation needs to stop forgetting this thing known as inflation
