More than 74 people have lost their life following the deadly fires in Eastern Attica on Monday night. Here’s a list of ways you can help as well as charities on the ground, providing help to the thousands of displaced families.

If you live abroad Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World)
The municipality of Rafina-Pikermi, one the zones hit hardest by the fires, has announced the opening of an account in collaboration with Piraeus Bank, accepting donations for those wishing to contribute.

Donate blood
In these summer months where blood availability is low, there is an urgent need for blood donations. You can donate at any local hospital accross the country as well as
blood donation centers in Attica, Chalkis and Corinth, everyday from 09:00 to 14:00
blood donation centers of the hospitals Elefsina General Hospital “Thriasio”, “Sismanoglio” General Hospital and “Elpis” General Hospital, with extended hours 09:00 to 20:00
at Syntagma metro station Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 August 2018

Contact your local municipalities for the collection spot. Basic items are needed (clothing items no longer needed).

Ready to eat foods that don’t need refrigeration (canned foods, packaged croissants, cookies, toast bread, etc.)

Main collection point Logistics Center of the Attica Region, Esplanade, Water Plaza, next to the Taek-Won-Do stadium in Faliro.
You can send your donations using the Greek Postal Service. All packages for the relief effort will be sent free of charge (up to 31st August 2018), contact your local post office for more information.
Provide a roof
A Google form is circulating allowing people to sign up their spare rooms or empty flats to host families that have lost their homes.
